I was a River Guide in the North Carolina Mountains for 9 seasons! It’s true! The safety talk reminds you that if you fall out of the boat, you need to be a part of your own rescue! My crew is a family of 6; Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma, and 2 teen age boys. A “Black” Family! More than half thru the trip, I bounce off a boulder, I now have 3 swimmer! Dad, one teenager, and Grandma! Dad and the boy, are staying near the boat, for me to rescue! Grandma is floating down the river with her face down! Knocked out, unconscious??? I start to blow my rescue whistle to alert other boats that there is a “swimmer”! 20-30 seconds go by, another boat reaches Grandma, face down, they grab her, she lifts her head and says, “Praise Jesus”!😂😂😂

I don't go anywhere or get on anything that has instructions that have included that you might die.

so i just did those rapids and the girl that was our guide told us to watch this. as someone who has been there i want to correct something and add something. Hell Hole isnt a waterfall, its a rapid that creates a wave that you go off of but it does kind of feel like a drop in his defence. the reason his friend got sucked under is because right after Hell Hole is the deepest part of the channel and there is an underwater “elevator” that sucks you under and spits you out ab 15 ft away, 30 feet deep, and in about 10 seconds
